"Recruiting & Retaining Women: A Self-Assessment Guide for Law Enforcement" is designed to help local, state and federal law enforcement agencies examine their policies and procedures in order to identify and remove obstacles to hiring and retaining sworn and civilian women employees. The Guide, which was developed under a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, also provides a list of resources for agencies to use when planning or implementing changes to their current policies and procedures.

Training Available for Law Enforcement Agencies In order to provide assistance to law enforcement agencies wishing to increase the numbers of women employees, the National Center for Women & Policing provides 2-day Regional Training Seminars on recruiting women and on-site consulting by a team of professional law enforcement experts to assist the agency in identifying and removing obstacles to recruiting and retaining women.
